The logo of the 19th International Congress of Myriapodology was built based on some elements that distinguish the headquarters country of this event:
The center of the logo is the silhouette of Colombia’s map, circle by coffee beans, one of the more important and representative products of the country and the region, and which is the base of a big part of the culture international recognition.
Due to its geographical localization and its geological configuration, Colombia shows a huge variety of ecosystems, and is considered a biodiversity hotspot in the world. In our logo this diversity is represented by three specimens a millipede, a centipede and a velvet worm. Each one of those has one of the colors of the Colombian flag, and it corresponds with colorations of the species founded in our country. Additionally, the texture resembles some of the more showy crafts as a part of our history and intangible heritage.
